Let’s talk skin!
Your skin literally consumes the ingredients from the products you use on it. That’s why it’s so important to avoid ‘fragrance’ aka parfum.
When you see the word ‘fragrance’ as an ingredient in your skin care products, it conjures up an idea of a lovely scent making you feel good. But to be honest, there’s nothing pleasant about manufactured fragrance. Why? Well, sadly many of these products are synthetic, created in a lab from a mixture of chemicals which are mainly derived from petroleum! Shocking, isn’t it?
The word ‘fragrance’ on a list of ingredients (sometimes, replaced by words such as ‘scent’ or ‘parfum’) means the products can be harmful to the health of your skin…..and therefore your entire body.
Better Choices
The last thing your skin needs to absorb are chemicals. So to avoid products that contains fragrance, it’s always best to:
- Read labels carefully and consider not purchasing. Don’t put your health at risk.
- Opt for products that are not
- Look for products that contain essential oils (not fragrance oil).
- Consider products that have plant-based extracts, spices or herbs as ingredients.
Remember the largest organ in your body is your skin. Doing what you can to keep it healthy will help you to feel happy and confident and to look radiant.
